Open year-round. The strait is narrow and sheltered on both sides, so weather rarely stops diving. Jul-Aug brings cooler nutrient-rich water which lowers visibility but is reported to increase critter activity, making the 'worst' visibility months arguably the best diving months.
Destination detailChocolate Island is the most consistent site. One field account reports a mating-season concentration in roughly late April to May; this is a single observation and the encoded peak is weakly supported.

Typhoon risk runs roughly May-Oct and sources disagree on how badly it bites: DAN says avoid Jun-Sep, Divernet calls Mar-Sep the most stable window, and one field account calls the Jul-Dec rainy season mild.
