Endemic troglobitic species in the Yucatán aquifer. Present but very rarely observed on recreational cavern dives, hence 'off' throughout rather than a false 'peak'. Not sourced to the guide used for the rest of this record; treat with caution.

Open year-round; the cenotes are inland, sheltered and thermally constant at 24-25C, so they are the reliable fallback when Caribbean weather cancels the boats. Heavy rain in the Jun-Oct wet season pushes tannins and particulate into some systems and temporarily reduces visibility; hurricanes close roads rather than sites.
